The Toypixx Patreon
The Toypixx Patreon exists for one reason and one reason only: to help everyone get better at toy photography. More specifically, it exists to help us all get better at action figure photography!
But you can’t help everyone get better if you put everything you create to HELP people get better behind a paywall. It’s for that reason that every download I post on Patreon is free.
And it’s not free as in the slick, salesy kind, where you know someone’s gonna try to get your credit card info for a “free” trial. you’re gonna forget about. No, this stuff’s truly free. Because all these freebies are on Patreon, you can become a Toypixx patron, but you don’t have to. And that’s the point.
So let’s get into the kinds of free stuff you can get on the Toypixx Patreon page.

Digital Backgrounds

Digital backgrounds / wallpapers are images you can put on your monitor in order to, well, give your action figure photos a background. All you have to do is download them, then place them on your monitor.
If you want your action figures to look juuust right in front of tthe backgrounds, make sure you light the them up withougt the light glare hitting the monitor. The only exception to that would be if you want it / them to be silhouetted.
Bonus points if you put things in front of the figure(s) to add more dimension / depth.
Digital Effects

I’m all for editing action figure photos to get the look you’re going for. And it’s my hope that these effects will help any and all toy photographers do just that.
I use Photoshop for my photo edits, and always set the layer mode to Screen so the black disappears from effects with a black background. BUT, if you don’t have Photoshop, you can always sign up for a free Adobe account at https://account.adobe.com, then get the free version of Photoshop Express.
Enjoy, fellow figure photogs!
Onomatopoeia
Find all the Onomatopoeia here
Tons of characters represented by action figures have appeared in comic books, so why not create stuff to help make your action figure photography a bit more stylized in a comics kinda way?
Here, you’ll find word balloons, and a whole lotta words representing sound effects. You know…onomatopoeia! So, if you want. to make your images look more like a comic, head to the Onomatopoeia section of the Toypixx Patreon page.
