Hasbro Pulse Con, Threezero’s Transformers One, and More!
Photogenic action figures is where I talk about all the figures that went up for preorder in the last week I think are gonna look good under your lights, and in front of your lens!
This week, Hasbro went crazy with Pulse Con, Threezero went heavy into their Transformers One MDLX figures, and S.H.Figuarts pulled off their weekly show-off session! Plus plenty more. So yeah, there’s a lot to type about!
Hasbro Pulse Con Star Wars Black Series
Let’s start with what I saw worked from the Star Wars Black Series line, when it comes to toy photography, anyway. And that is the Commando Droid!
I don’t normally suggest Black Series for photos because of limited articulation and the lack of extra accessories, most notably hands. But droids don’t really need all that. Besides, this thing’s SWEET!

Hasbro Pulse Con GI Joe Classified
To me, the articulation of the standard GI Joe figure beats out all other Hasbro lines. The ball-peg waists add SO MUCH more natural movement! Waist cuts must be destroyed! Photo Dave SMASH just thining about ’em.
Anywho, the winner for me was Leatherneck! Extra hands add so many more possibilities for action figure photography that I’d really like Classified (and all other lines) to make them standard.

Pulse Con Marvel Legends
I mega loathe waist cuts. And because of that, I sold off the vast majority of my Marvel Legends a couple years ago. That typed, I can’t deny that the Legends team has been stepping it up in terms of accessories. And in the past few months, I’m hearing less complaints about the quality.
And with their Secret Wars line, it looks like they’re really commited to improvement. Also, I hugely dig Cap’s busted shield.

Threezero MDLX Transformers One
As of this writing, I haven’t seen Transformers One, but I’m pretty stoked about it! And the incredible work done on these figures isn’t helping my patience any.
If you check out the Toypixx Collection, you’ll see I have some MDLX. And they are impressive! And yours truly sees no reason why these won’t follow suit. Plus, just look at that D-16 / Megatron!

SHF doesn’t slow down!
It seems every week, they load up our newsfeeds and eyeballs with images of action figures that’ll look fantastic under our lights and in front of our lenses!
Fun fact: I know next to nothing about anime, but S.H.Figuarts makes me wanna learn.

Beetlejuice Action Figures Aplenty
SHF doesn’t slow down!
NECA and Mezco have jumped aboard the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice train, and it doesn’t look like SHF’s far behind! Because of course they’re not.
Of the two up for preorder, I think the NECA one has the better likeness, but the Mezco one has the more classic Beetlejuice look. BOTH, however, are highly photogenic!

All the Other Cool Things
And now, the last group of figures from this post! All photogenic (excapt possibly the McFarlane stuff), but they just didn’t have categories they fit neatly into.
My caution with all things McFarlane Toys: They’re getting way better at including extras, but while the points of articulation are always there, the engineering on them is hit and miss. So in theory they should pose well, but oftentimes they don’t.
Anywaho, onto the figures!
